GUWAHATI, Nov 24: Troops of Assam Rifles (AR) have recovered contraband drugs worth more than Rs 2 crore in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.
A top official of Assam Rifles said that on November 22, 2019, during a routine search at mobile vehicle check post, the Assam Rifles troops intercepted a suspicious white Maruti Alto car driven by a person named H Jangkhongam Mate of Kangpokpi district Manipur.
After a thorough check of the vehicle, the security personnel recovered 50 packets of Heroin weighing approximately 641 gram valued at more than Rs 2 crore in the market.
The Assam Rifles personnel apprehended the person and were handed him and the recovered items over to police at Tengnoupal for further investigation.
