A BABY girl “born with three heads” has baffled doctors in India, according to reports.

Family members are said to be "in shock" following the unusual birth last Thursday.

The baby girl has two large protrusions formed from the back of her skull



The mum was admitted to a health centre in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district after suffering extreme pain in the build up to her labour.
But relatives and doctors were stunned when she delivered a baby with three “heads”.
The baby girl has two large protrusions formed from the back of her skull – rare birth defects that are known as encephaloceles.
Medics said the mum had not experienced any complications during her pregnancy.
She was later referred to the District Hospital in Etah as the health centre lacked advanced medical facilities.
Doctors said that they would conduct a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to determine the medical condition that caused the abnormality.

RARE CONDITION

"This is a very rare medical condition,” explained Rajesh Thakur, Chief Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Etah.
“The child’s body has not fully developed. We will perform an MRI scan and then perform a surgery to separate the ‘heads’”.
Although rare, there have been other reports of babies being born with more than one head, especially in African nations.
This type of birth defect is referred to as an encephalocele.
According to the NHS, an encephalocele is a rare congenital type of neural tube defect where part of the skull has not formed properly.
So a portion of brain tissue and associated structures are outside the skull.

LOW SURVIVAL RATE

According to reports, babies diagnosed with an encephalocele have a 55 per cent survival rate.
The long-term prognosis for survival becomes less likely if there are other complications, such as associated defects or syndromes or if brain tissue protrudes into the sac.
Approximately 75 per cent of these infants who do survive have varying degrees of mental deficit.
On March 4, an expert team of neurosurgeons at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) successfully operated on an infant with two heads.
According to reports, the father of the newborn had tried to bury him alive, fearing he would not be able to afford his treatment.

GUWAHATI, Nov 24: Troops of Assam Rifles (AR) have recovered contraband drugs worth more than Rs 2 crore in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

A top official of Assam Rifles said that on November 22, 2019, during a routine search at mobile vehicle check post, the Assam Rifles troops intercepted a suspicious white Maruti Alto car driven by a person named H Jangkhongam Mate of Kangpokpi district Manipur.

After a thorough check of the vehicle, the security personnel recovered 50 packets of Heroin weighing approximately 641 gram valued at more than Rs 2 crore in the market.

The Assam Rifles personnel apprehended the person and were handed him and the recovered items over to police at Tengnoupal for further investigation.

How to apply for Meghalaya Jail Recruitment 2019,  (Prisons Department) Meghalaya

The application form should be submitted in a sealed envelope containing attested copies of the following and submitted to the nearest Jail or at the office of the Asstt. Inspector General of Prisons Cum Member Secretary, Prisons Recruitment Board, Meghalaya on any working day between 10:00 A.M and 4:00 P.M.
  1. 4 (four) recent passport size photographs (one of which is to be pasted on the application form, one on the Admit Card, one on the counterfoil of the Admit Card and one spare copy). 
  2. The original copy of the Treasury Challan (Shillong North Treasury) for an amount of Rs. 380/- only, for the posts at Sl. 1 & 2, Rs. 180/- only, for the posts at Sl. 3, 4, 5 & 6 and Rs. 130/- only, for the posts at Sl. 7, 8 & 9, paid to the Head of Account “0056-Jails-800-Other receipt-03 (Other items)”. The fees above are applicable for candidates belonging to non-SC/ST categories. Half of the fees specified above are to be paid by candidates from SC/ST categories.
  3. Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste Certificate.

Selection Procedure

Only those candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be allowed to appear for the written examination. There will be no Physical Efficiency Test for the posts of Counsellor/ Electrician-Cum-Plumber/ Driver/ Medical Attendant/ Chowkidar/ Data Entry Operator-Cum-Programmer. Only those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination will be allowed to appear for the Personal Interview.

Candidates shall have to appear for the Physical Test, Written Examination and Interview at their own expense on the date and at the place indicated in the Admit Card for the Test/Interview.
