Sonowal reviews steps to tackle & stop the situation in view of novel Coronavirus outbreak 2020

GUWAHATI, Mar 14: Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday took a detailed review of the situation emanated in the wake of novel Coronavirus outbreak, across many countries and its fallout in India, with special focus on measures deployed at the state’s airports to screen passengers.
The meeting took place at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati to take stock of the health situation in the state where the Chief Minister of the state asked the Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Samir Sinha to keep the entire health machinery prepared to deal with any situation springing out from novel Coronavirus infection.
Sarbananda Sonowal also reviewed the steps taken so far to tackle novel Coronavirus, whose infection have been reported in several states in India. He said that though no cases have been detected in the state, utmost care and precaution should be taken to keep the state aloof from novel Coronavirus infection.
He also maintained that the health men and machinery in the state should be adequately sensitised to face any contingency and he has asked the Health Department to generate mass awareness and encourage people to adopt personal hygiene, to defeat any sort of eventuality.
The Chief Minister also took a review of the progress of other development schemes and asked senior officers to expeditiously complete their implementation for the welfare of the public and also asked the officers to keep the utilisation certificates ready to send them to the centre.

Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor, Santanu Bharali, Chief Secretary, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Director General of Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Political, Jishnu Baruah, Additional Chief Secretary Public Health Engineering, Syedain Abbasi , Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sanjay Lohiya, Principal Secretary to Health and Family Welfare, Smair Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary to Elementary Education, B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare, Avinash Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M), Biswajit Pegu and few other senior officers of the government were also present at the meeting.
