AHAM Demand Approval Of The Garo Customary Law and also demanded the state government to resume coal mining in the state

A.chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM): Top Leaders Mr Champion R Sangma Along With Georgeprince Cheran Vice President, C J Marak President, Assam, Kingston Bolwari Add General Secretary, Cherian Momin Chief Organising Secretary , B Marak Education Secretary Jesse Sangma, Publicity Secretary, Meraki Tengnang D Sangma, Arts & Culture Secretary , Pilan T Sangma Legal Adviser, Dr S Sangma, Adviser Shillong Central Unit Meet And Sought The Intervention Of The Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma Into Its 14 Charter Of Demands Which Include Approval Of The Garo Customary Law and also demanded the state government to resume coal mining in the state at the earliest and to seek exemption from the MMDR Act.

“It is the aspiration of the people of Garo Hills that government initiate certain steps so as to start the mining of coal in the state,” While demanding to know whether the government has come up with the mining plan in accordance with the ruling of the Supreme Court and the time frame required to complete all the process, so that mining of coal can be initiated legally in the state.
