Meghalaya Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui today confirmed the death of a young man from Shillong, who was working in one of the hostels at Agra.

"The report about the young from Shillong committing suicide is true. It is sad that the young passed away under such conditions in Agra. His body has been kept in the mortuary. All necessary steps will be taken to bring his body back after the lockdown," Rymbui informed here today.

 On the question if it will be too late to wait till the lockdown gets over, Home Minister said that there is no other way at this point in time as inter district and interstate developments have just been banned and the flights grounded. He said that the state will have follow the headings of the centre and there is no other option.

To an inquiry if any communication has been sent to the deceased family, Rymbui said that he just got to know about the case and they have addressed the UP police and state government to enlist a case and if any bad wrongdoing is done, the culprit ought to be booked.

Home Minister likewise said that the report is sketchy and the facts still everything need to verified.

According to reports, police had found that the youth recognized as Aldrin Lyngdoh had draped himself at his leased house in the city. The deceased in a Facebook post, had blamed his employer for not offering any help during the 21-day across the nation lockdown period that has been forced by the Central Government trying to control the spread of coronavirus.

In his Facebook post, the deceased has stated that he had been a thief while in Shillong and had settled on the hard decision to move out of the city in search for a better life. He had also stated that he sees suicide the only way out and called on humanity to take his remains home. It was informed that the decease had a couple of friend circles.

It is also reported that he had written a letter to Delhi police IPS official, Robin Hibu however this  came to his knowledge very late.

The SP from Agra today had requested Robin Hibu to identify the family members of the deceased who had committed suicide. The postmortem will be conducted as soon as possible and no possibility to bring back his dead body either in Delhi or back home due to Covid 19.

In the mean time, KSU Delhi unit president, Miss Marbiang Khongwir has communicated shocked over the incident.
