Tripura police on Friday captured five people for purportedly "genuinely and intellectually" tormenting a 52-year-elderly person, authorities said.
As indicated by police, the occurrence occurred on March 3 in Belonia in southern Tripura.
"We are examining the grumbling of the lady and her family. All the charged — matured between 34-36, were introduced at a nearby court on Friday. The court sent them to police authority," Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shomya Debbrama told IANS over telephone from Belonia, around 145 km from state capital Agartala.
The lady in her objection claimed that she was "fiercely tormented" by the five men.
After persuasively going into her home on late Tuesday night, the denounced advised her either to go with them to a security camp to "spend the whole night", or wed one of her male family members — who was remaining at their place.
The lady said the gathering of men tormented her, her better half Dhananjay Debnath and one of their family members, after she would not tail them.
"The goons continued beating me. They tied me and our relative almost a sanctuary and tormented me for the duration of the prior night letting free a pooch on me that bit me everywhere. They likewise hit my reproductive organs," the lady told the police and the media at the medical clinic, and furthermore showed a portion of her injuries.
The lady was hospitalized on Thursday by the police in a "genuine condition".
