Dr John L Sailo Ryntathiang, the primary COVID-19 patient who died on Wednesday, are laid to rest on Thursday evening.
The burial will happen at the graveyard of the Riatsamthiah Presbyterian Church at Lawmali. The decision to bury the mortal remains of the doctor was taken after midnight by the regime.
The decision came after opposition to cremate the mortal remains at the electrical crematorium at Jhalupara and opposition by the Dorbar Shnong Nongpoh Proper to bury at the farm house of the physician at Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi area.
The burial will follow after digging the grave, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong stated, few leaders of the church will visit the burial service within the sight of the government officials in step with the laid down protocols.
Meanwhile, 22 more tests from samples of the State were conducted at Barpeta Medical College in Assam and every one the results tested negative.
