Meghalaya has announced no new COVID19 positive case over the last one week.

A sum of 1,182 examples tested negative, out of 1,254 swab samples colllected for COVID19 test.

Meghalaya deputy chief minsiter Prestone Tynsong in his daily briefing on Monday said the result of 60 samples is awaited.

He informed that the health and family welfare department is maintaining a strict vigil and all the 11 active COVID19 positive patients were stable.

The deadly virus claimed one individual in Meghalaya.

Informing that 24,382 people have been screened up until this point, the deputy chief said contact tracing of 181 primary contacts and 3147 secondary contacts has been completed, and 6,434 people are under home isolate while 308 are under institutional isolate.

The director of health services, Dr. Aman War informed that samples of the COVID19 patients will be collected again on completion of 14 days in isolation for testing to find out whether the patients are free from the infection.

If such persons test negative they will be certified to be corona-free,” Dr. War said.

Tynsong said the government has chosen to teach the health department to coordinate the civil hospitals in Shillong, Tura and Jowai to get admitted patients suffering from different ailments.
